About the Library:-

NITI Aayog Library, being the knowledge and information Hub of the NITI Aayog, provides comprehensive access to books, Journals, reports etc., to all officers and officials of the NITI Aayog. It provides reference services and lending facilities to the members of the Library. The Library provides access to different databases on the intranet of the NITI Aayog.

The in-house consultation facility is also extended to officials of other departments and research scholars enrolled with institutions/universities. The Library is managed by well-qualified/skilled staff. The Library is equipped with the latest tools of Information Technology and provides many services to its users.

Library Committee
CEO, NITI Aayog is the final authority for all matters of administration and control of the Library. The Library Committee, appointed by the CEO, exercises general direction, control, supervision, and guidance over the affairs of the Library. Currently, the Library has one committee headed by Senior Adviser Dr Yogesh Suri. The Library Committee comprises of:

    Membership

    Membership is only for NITI Aayog officers and officials. No outsider is given membership; however, research scholars are allowed to consult documents for research. For membership, NITI Aayog officers and officials need to fill up an application form, which has to be verified by the concerned Administration Section.

    Services

    NITI Aayog Library offers a number of information services to its members. Some examples are given below:
  • Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC): OPAC is the finest and most authentic medium for searching the exact location of a document. Click here to search OPAC: www.library.niti.gov.in
  • Reference and Bibliography Service: This section mainly provides a facility to consult books that can't be issued. Other Reference services include Current Awareness Service (CAS), Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI), Preparation of a list of books and bibliographies and providing information on the telephone.
  • Circulation: This section deals with the issue/return of documents.
  • Inter Library Loan: Library also provides Inter Library Loan service to meet the demand of the user in a better way because no library can acquire all types of resources in different formats. Or we can say Lending books to and borrowing books from other libraries for the use of readers.
  • DELNET: To access the catalogue of different libraries, NITI Aayog offers DELNET services. Click here to search DELNET
  • Library Publications and Collection

  • Bulletin (Daily): The Library Compiles Bulletin News on Global and Domestic on the topic of Economy, Finance and Policy.
  • Daily Digest (Daily): The Library Compiles Daily Digest (Part-A & Part-B). Part-A contains news information pertaining to NITI Aayog. Part-B contains editorials, comments and analyses published in different newspapers.
  • Weekly Bulletin: The Library compiles information on the following six sectors: a. Energy, b. Infrastructure, c. Agriculture and Rural Development, d. Health, e. Industry, f. Education.
  • DOCPLAN (Monthly): It contains abstracts of articles taken from periodicals received in the Library related to core areas dealt with by NITI.
  • Recent List of Additions (Monthly): It contains bibliographic details of books/documents added/received in the Library for users.
  • Table of Contents (Monthly): A monthly list of articles published in different journals received in the Library.
  • Book Alert (Monthly): it contains the picture of the front cover and a short abstract of the new books purchased by the Library.
